Hi,

I just wanted to know the difference between the two shooting modes, expert RAW and Pro mode. I was not able to get a solution in the forums.

Much appreciated! Thanks.

Expert RAW and Pro mode are two different shooting modes on the Samsung S23 Ultra. Expert RAW saves a multi-frame 16-bit RAW image, which has more detail and dynamic range than a single-frame 12-bit RAW image saved by Pro mode. This means that Expert RAW images can be edited more flexibly in post-processing. However, editing RAW files can take more time than editing JPEG files. So, if you want the best possible image quality and are willing to put in the time to edit your photos, then Expert RAW is the way to go. Otherwise, Pro mode is a good option.

ProMode produces fakes that have no advantage over the jpg.

ExpertRAW has compression artefacts in dark parts of the image.

Samsung have broken everything they can to make room for new models, never again any product from Samsung . I have wasted a lot of time testing their faulty camera software, every mode is useless, files are created with artefacts, colour spots and as you can see they do nothing about it. . Samsung, you are running out of time to regain your honour.
