It probably takes time to optimize for every phone and that chip sd 8 gen 1 was problematic to begin with. I think they are taking their time to get it perfect otherwise there will be issues again. Better wait than regret to update.
The reason is software optimization. Every phone is different with different feature set, different processor for which you optimize differently. You don't want a broken feature. Better wait than have something glitchy. Software is the toughest part....
