Z Fold4 Inner Display Screen Protector Peeling Off

Hey there!

My Fold4's inner display screen protector is starting to peel off from both ends of either edge along the hinge.

Just wondering if anyone had or has the same issue.

And does Samsung Care+ cover this?

There seem to be a lot of screen protector issues given the supposedly rare problem

This is not true, please don't perpetuate this. It is a design flaw that needs to be addressed. Nothing is gained from trying to deny this. Say we are aware and this is the resolution.

In regards to the flip and fold screen technology, it is important to acknowledge that we are still in the early stages of its development, and it has not yet reached its optimum performance. However, it is worth noting that Samsung has made commendable progress in this area by effectively minimizing various issues associated with this technology. This accomplishment is certainly a positive development from my perspective.

I agree with the progress and the trend that samsung has been doing, hence the main reason why I got myself the Fold 4, and I am totally loving the experience, although 4 iterations of the device I would argue is not early development stages 😅

Also, I have no issues with the folding screen, just the pre-installed internal screen protector peeling off, which in my opinion shouldn't be happening, being again the 4th iteration, and given the premium price point.

Wouldn't you agree? 🤔

One of my friends has also encountered the same issue, and according to his opinion, if the pre-installed screen protector peels off, it's advisable to promptly replace it by booking a service appointment at a Samsung service center, which usually costs around $10. Not only does this help to address the peeling problem, but it can also contribute to reducing the visibility of the screen crease. It's important to acknowledge that the presence of a crease is still a reality in current folding phones. However, we can remain hopeful that in future generations, advancements in technology will lead to the disappearance of the crease. While the folding mechanism of these devices may have certain limitations, it's crucial for us to exercise patience as we anticipate the upcoming generations that will likely bring further improvements and refinements.

This is therefore not a rare case then 😅

In my opinion, having paid for Samsung Care Plus, this should be covered, even the normal warranty should suffice, but I will have to check this with the service center.

Yeah...got nothing against the crease really, not sure why that was bought up, although as of the moment crease = water resistance, so I'd take the crease anytime until the tech progresses.

Thanks for your inputs though, I'll just head off to Samsung.

Hey there, unfortunately no, and the replacement costs 270-280aed, although the replacement has way better quality than the existing one.

I have had my Fold 4 since August 22, everything with the screen has been OK upto last night, but when I woke up this morning and opened up my screen there is a 1.5inc bubble in the middle from the top down, nothing has happened to my phone over night its just happened, not sure what to do, I'm at work till 4 and going to my phone provider when I finish cause I have 2 years total care warranty with the phone so I will see what they say later

Heya, bummer right?

Not sure what the coverage is in your country, but here in UAE, the screen protector is not covered by Samsung Care Plus, so in my situation, I had to change the screen protector at Samsung for about 60USD with 1 year warranty for bubbles or such.

And oh, now bubbles started to appear so im gonna have to bring it back to Samsung for replacement, it lasted for about a month 😞
