You should use a screen protector in order to not break the screen, try to see if there's any matte material front protectors available near you.

Use screen protector, but don't use Matt protectors.
The reason is that they are very very hard and rugged. When mobile falls, protector remains intact but display glass shatters. I have experienced many times.
Go for 6D/9H glass. They are good. Top quality is of G-RHINO, if you can't find that go for OG or HD+ .

As per my experience, using a curved glass protector is good for your phone, but the UV bonding glue always remained peomlem for me.
I am happy to have S24 Ultra with flat screwn glass with plain protector pasted without UV glue.

I've opted simple gel screen protector for both sides. Would that leave stain or marks once I'll remove from the back?

No. It won't leave any mark.
