Hello! It seems like your phone is overheating due to direct sunlight. When a device gets too hot, the system automatically slows down or freezes to protect the hardware, which can cause the touch screen to stop responding.
Here are a few quick solutions you can try to fix and prevent this:
1. Force Restart the Device (When Frozen):
Since your touch isn't working when it freezes, you can force restart it using the hardware buttons. Press and hold the Volume Down + Power Button simultaneously for about 7 to 10 seconds until the phone vibrates and the Samsung logo appears.
2. Cool Down the Phone:
If you are outside in the sun, immediately move to a shaded area or an air-conditioned room. Remove the back cover (case) for a few minutes so the heat can escape faster. Never put it in the fridge, just let it cool down naturally.
3. Check High Refresh Rate & Brightness:
Using max brightness under direct sunlight combined with a 120Hz refresh rate generates massive heat. Try enabling Adaptive Brightness so the screen adjusts properly, and temporarily switch to Standard refresh rate if you plan to use it under the sun for long.
4. Check for Software Updates:
Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Sometimes, optimization bugs cause the screen to misbehave under high thermal loads, and a software patch usually fixes it.
If the issue persists even when the phone is completely cool, it might be a hardware digitizer issue, and you should visit an authorized Samsung Service Center to get it checked. Hope this helps!
