Hello everyone,

Is anyone else facing this issue after the July 07, 2025 software update on the Galaxy A16?

Since updating, my fingerprint sensor often shows “Fingerprint sensor not responding” when I try to unlock the phone or register a new fingerprint. Sometimes restarting helps, but the problem comes back randomly.

Before the update, it worked perfectly. This feels like a software/firmware issue rather than hardware failure.

Please share if you are experiencing the same problem and if you have found any reliable fix. Hopefully, Samsung can address this in the next update.

First you need to change your unlocking method to PIN set your preferred code then restart your phone then unlock your phone then set it from PIN to fingerprint

Someone mentioned this as solution. Look for similar posts in forum. Sometimes those similar posts appear right on top or bottom of your own posts in which there may be solution
