I recently encountered an issue with my Samsung S22 Ultra display, which I've noticed is a problem experienced by many users. My handset is usually lightly used and kept in excellent condition, with no scratches whatsoever. However, while using it, a bright spot suddenly appeared on the display. Upon closer inspection, I noticed the bright spot extends toward the left part of the display in a scattered manner. When the phone is in a darker environment, this light scattering becomes even more noticeable. After spending so much money on this device, this issue has left me feeling quite disappointed. Upon browsing Samsung’s community support forum, I discovered that many others are facing the exact same issue.

I tried several methods to resolve the problem on my own:

1. Booted into Safe Mode to check for any faulty apps, but found nothing.

2. Performed a factory reset, but there was no improvement.

Then, I changed some display settings. When I activated power-saving mode, the bright patch disappeared, and the screen became clean and crisp. However, whenever I woke the phone by pressing the power button, the bright patch briefly appeared over the left taskbar before disappearing again. I also disabled power-saving mode and reduced the refresh rate from 120Hz to 60Hz, and the bright patch vanished again. Yet, the moment I woke the screen, the same brief appearance of the patch occurred before disappearing.

This leads me to wonder: if the display were externally damaged, how is it that these adjustments to power-saving mode and refresh rate can temporarily fix the issue? Samsung clearly needs to investigate this further to save their loyal users from such frustrations. After investing so much money, dealing with issues like this makes me seriously reconsider purchasing Samsung's flagship devices in the future. Hopefully, Samsung is listening.

This is actually a common issue. I have gone through many forums on samsung website. I have experienced the same issue and it seems the only solution to this is screen replacement from service center. Samsung had their own free replacement till September 30th as this issue was emerging with many users. Not sure if this free replacement is still valid. I also have raised the same to Samsung lets see what they reply. I'll keep you updated and you too do the same if you come across any solution
