Samsung confirms software fix for Galaxy S25 Ultra camera issue

Samsung's Galaxy S25 Ultra is the phone to get if a top-tier camera experience is what you're after. There have been a few reports from some users who have pointed out an issue with the camera's post processing that leaves the images with banding.

This isn't the user experience that one would expect from a device of this calibre. Fortunately, it's nothing major, and Samsung has confirmed that the issue will be fixed through a software update.

Galaxy S25 series is receiving its first update today

These reports have primarily been shared on Reddit and Samsung's official online forums. They don't appear to be too widespread, so it's possible that this is just an odd glitch that's easily fixable through an update.

The issue is isolated to pictures taken in the night mode which appear to get noticeable horizontal or vertical bands. Some users have also reported experiencing the same on photos taken with the Galaxy S25+.

The bands typically appear closer to the edges of these photos. Since shooting with other modes doesn't recreate the problem, it's evident that this is a software issue with the post processing, and not a hardware fault.
A spokesperson for the company has since confirmed that Samsung is aware of the “limited number of cases” and that it has deployed a fix to resolve the issue in the next software update. Earlier today, Samsung started rolling out the first update for the Galaxy S25 series, and it likely addresses this issue.
