It's not stable. Once I enabled the 'Adaptive Brightness' option it's continuously changing.

Turn off your device and wait until u feel the vibration.
Then press the volume up button + power button for few seconds until u see the boot logo.
And suddenly screen go black then relase the fingers.
A menu will appear.
Press the Volume down button and go to wipe cache partition
Now press power button to enter it.
Then press volume down and choose yes and again press power button.
Then cache will clear.
Now go back to main menu
Go to the last option repair apps.
Then press the power button.
The phone will now restart. And a message will show with optimizing apps.
Wait till it finishes.
Now check whether problem fixed

Hi... when did start to happen? It is after a security update? 🤔 Anyway,

First, Go to Support tab of this app and select Diagnostic > check Sensors and proximity sensor whether it working normally.

Then turn on your device in Safe mode. (You can check on Google if you want to know how to turn on the device in Safe mode) It'll allow you to find out if the issue is happening due to a bug in an app you installed.

If the issue is still there even in safe mode, better to reset your device.
If not resolve the issue after the reset, then probably it's a hardware issue. Visit a Samsung service center for assistance in such case.

If my comment is helpful to you in any way, consider to select the Accept Solution by clicking on the 3 dots of the comment.
Thank you 😊
