Galaxy SDear Samsung Support Team,
I am writing to express my strong concern regarding the recent shift toward making Google Messages the default messaging app on Galaxy devices. As a long-term Samsung user, I am reaching out to request that you continue to support and develop the Samsung Messages app instead of phasing it out.
There are several reasons why I prefer the native Samsung app over Google’s version:
- User Interface & Ease of Use: Samsung Messages is incredibly simple and intuitive. The design language fits perfectly with One UI, making it easy to navigate. In contrast, many users find Google Messages to be cluttered and "strange" to use.
- Brand Identity: One of the main reasons people choose Samsung is for its unique ecosystem. Currently, almost every other Android brand is forced to use Google Messages. By keeping your own app, Samsung maintains its own identity and gives users a choice that isn't just "standard Android."
- Consistency: Samsung apps have always felt like they belong on a Galaxy phone. Moving to a Google-centric model takes away that premium, customized feel that we love about your devices.
Please don't follow the crowd. Samsung apps have always been one of your biggest strengths—please keep them as they are and continue to let us use Samsung Messages.
Best regards,
[Shani]
