* **Live Translate (real-time call translation, Face-to-Face, and messages):** Urdu is not available in the language packs, rendering this feature inoperable for the language. * **Interpreter Mode (real-time conversation translation with split-screen):** This mode relies on the same language support as Live Translate, and as such, Urdu is not supported. * **Writing Assist (formerly Chat Assist – for rewriting messages, tone adjustment, grammar, or translation):** Urdu input often yields limited or no AI suggestions, and translation features frequently display "unsupported language" errors. * **AI Language Packs (Settings > General management > Language packs):** An Urdu language pack is not available for download, unlike options for Hindi, Gujarati, and Arabic. * **Accurate Urdu Voice Typing (Samsung Keyboard voice input / Speech-to-Text):** While basic voice typing for Urdu is present, its accuracy is suboptimal. Users have reported issues with punctuation, spacing, pronunciation (particularly with Pakistani/Indian accents), and integration with other Galaxy AI features like Note Assist.
Furthermore, other Galaxy AI features such as Note Assist, Transcript Assist, and Browsing Assist exhibit limited or inaccurate performance in Urdu due to the absence of comprehensive language support. Samsung Keyboard AI suggestions and grammar checks also function only partially in Urdu.
The currently supported languages, totaling 22, include Arabic, Chinese (Simplified, Traditional/Hong Kong), Dutch, English (multiple variants), Filipino, French (Canada/France), German, Gujarati, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, and Vietnamese.
It is important to note that a significant number of Pakistani and Urdu-speaking users have consistently requested Urdu support on Samsung Community forums since 2024, but this integration has not yet been implemented.
