( Samsung Galaxy Phones ) The Message app need up date for Backup option.. 
Because there is no backup option For Messages to . Backup to Samsung Cloud , Microsoft OneDrive , Google Cloud.

You can create backup using Smart Switch App from Samsung before resetting your device.
Daily backup option is not available in Samsung.
You can try other messaging app from play store for that purpose
