If it is an original charger then no it will not cause any harm and it will automatically charge your phone according to its maximum requirement.

If your phone doesn't support it then why are you buying it? You would have to pay more than double the price of 25 watts adapter. Just get the one that is compatible with your phone and save money. Make sure you buy the original adapter.

I have both the real ones but the 25w is giving me a bit of a problem so I'm asking if I can use the 45 or not.

Yes you can absolutely use 45 watt charger.
Even 100W is also fine.

Supply (Charger) power rating is only the Maximum power that charger can provide.
Mobile's power rating is the maximum power that mobile can draw from charger. So you can even connect 1000W charger to 25W supported device. Device will only draw 25 watts.
