Galaxy SI've been an Apple user since 2012, but last month, I decided to switch to the Samsung S24 Ultra, and honestly, it’s been a great experience so far. The device feels incredibly powerful, and I finally have the freedom to customize and do things I couldn’t on an iPhone.
Samsung's ecosystem offers fewer proprietary restrictions compared to Apple, and even other Android brands like LG and Sony, where devices from certain regions don’t even allow rooting. It’s refreshing to have this level of flexibility, but there are still some areas that could be improved.
One thing I’ve noticed is the complexity around CSC (Country/Carrier Specific Code) on Samsung’s multi-CSC firmware. For example:
- Hidden settings related USSD codes are often disabled, and enabling them can require a lot of hassle.
- To change the CSC, we had to rely on tools like SamFW Tool or flash the desired CSC via Odin.
While Samsung manages warranties and regulations at a country or continent level, I feel that users should have the freedom to easily switch between CSCs without these hurdles. A more seamless process would make the device even better for international users.
Additionally, international warranties don’t always apply to Sri Lanka, which can be frustrating for users who travel or purchase their devices abroad. Another drawback is that Samsung Pay isn’t available in Sri Lanka—this could be due to government restrictions, but I feel Samsung should start working towards enabling this feature. It would enhance the experience for Sri Lankan users and make the ecosystem more complete.
What are your thoughts on these points? Wouldn’t it be great if Samsung made CSC switching simpler, extended international warranties to more regions, and introduced Samsung Pay in countries like Sri Lanka? Let’s discuss! 😊

Galaxy SI think warranty should work seamlessly wherever in the world, especially of an international brand like Samsung. That way, we aren't afraid to travel the world, and we can still get our devices fixed. I hope these things will change some day
