There's a critical concern regarding data portability in Samsung Pass. While attempting to export my data for transfer to Chrome, I encountered a challenge, Samsung Pass currently does not provide any tools or options to export stored data in standard formats like CSV or XML. We'll find that is given to us only in the '.Spass' and we will not get any choices in this matter. This limitation makes it highly inconvenient for users to transition to other services, requiring manual transfer of entries.

The absence of an export option poses a significant inconvenience for users, as manually transferring numerous entries including passwords, account information, and payment methods is time intensive and prone to human error. This restricts the flexibility and usability of the service, impacting the overall user experience.

Potential Solutions to Consider

To address this issue, Samsung could consider implementing a secure data export tool that allows users to transfer their data seamlessly to other services in standard formats. Such a feature would not only improve user satisfaction but also demonstrate Samsung’s commitment to transparency and customer centric design.

I hope Samsung will review this concern and explore solutions to address the data portability limitations in Samsung Pass. Providing a data export option would greatly enhance the usability of the service for all users.

For those who got IT skills, a Github repository called spass-manager tool to securely extract and export your Samsung Pass data into a standard CSV format, making it easier to transition to other password management services.

The tool is user-friendly and comes with clear instructions to guide the process. However, as with any third-party tool, ensure you review the source code and follow security best practices when handling sensitive data.
