Yesterday, the Galaxy A Quantum, a special variant of the Galaxy A71 5G for South Korea, received the Android 12 update. Now, the update is rolling out to the vanilla Galaxy A71 5G. Hopefully, the update will soon expand to the LTE variant of the Galaxy A71. The Android 12 update for the Galaxy A71 is rolling out in the UAE. It comes with firmware version A716BXXU6DVC2 and brings One UI 4.1 to the smartphone. Samsung has also included the March 2022 security patch in the update to fix more than 50 known vulnerabilities. More markets could get the update within the next few days.
If you are a Galaxy A71 5G user in the UAE, you can now check for the Android 12 update by heading over to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
Samsung had launched the Galaxy A71 in early 2020 with Android 10-based One UI 2.1. It received the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update in early 2021. Now, the phone has received the Android 12-based One UI 4.1 update. This is probably the phone’s last major Android OS update.

The Android 12-based One UI 4.1 update brings a new UI design and various other features to the Galaxy A71 5G. It features a revamped UI design with Color Palette feature, improved AoD and Dark Mode, newer widget styling and widget picker UI, more home screen and lockscreen widgets, and an improved design for all stock apps.
The update also brings improved privacy and security with a Privacy Dashboard, quick setting toggles for turning on/off system-wide access to the camera and microphone, and privacy indicators for the camera and mic. You can set up any app to get an accurate or approximate location. The company has also improved Bixby, Bixby Routines, SmartThings, SmartThings Find, and Samsung Health.
Samsung Keyboard now offers better language suggestions, thanks to Grammarly integration. It also shows quick ways to add emojis and GIFs. You can also mash up two emojis into one. When any app accesses the clipboard information, the phone notifies you. Quick Share offers the ability to share Wi-Fi network credentials and edit history for shared images and videos.
The update also brings portrait mode for pets. The camera app has been cleaned up as well. Improvements to Pro and Pro Video mode have been made as well. The built-in Gallery app offers editing suggestions, Object Eraser, Reflection Eraser, and Shadow Eraser. You can add GIFs from Tenor to your AR Emoji. You can even change background colors in mask AR Emoji mode.
