Steps to play YouTube in background

Open chrome browser > YouTube website > Play any video > Tap the 3 dots in upper right corner > Then enable desktop site > Press the home button to close the browser > Pull down the notifications bar and check whether the video is playing or not.

Be sure to click the 3 dots and " ✓ Accept as Solution" when you find an answer that works for you.
