Hey, as a big Samsung fan, I'm really bummed about the rumors that they're gonna replace their own messaging app with Google's. The Samsung app is like, totally part of the whole Samsung experience, and it works so well with everything else. Switching to Google's app would mess that up and take away all the cool features and customization options that make the Samsung app so great. If they really do get rid of it, it'll be a major letdown and go against everything Samsung is known for.
Somehow, I'm fine if they stop pre-installing the messaging app since we can still download it later.
But don't you think this might lead to Samsung removing the messaging app altogether? If the Samsung Galaxy messaging app gets less attention from users, they might just get rid of it completely.
And new users won't ever get to experience the original Samsung Messaging app.
I've noticed that in the last few releases, including the S24U, Samsung has been moving the messaging app from the front screen to the Samsung application file. They've replaced it with Google Messenger.
It's not a bad thing, but as a Samsung user, I'm not too happy about it.
But Google messaging app is just better, even now its well optimised for Samsung phones and has RCS. Even Samsung wants you to use it. RCS is just better than SMS, you are missing out on it. Samsung wanted to do this since s21s
