Galaxy S
I recently noticed an issue with my Galaxy S24 Ultra (S928B D/S-OXM firmware, dual physical SIMs). When I'm on a WhatsApp call using mobile data on SIM 1 and receive a regular GSM call on SIM 2, the WhatsApp call gets terminated.
Both my SIM cards have VoLTE enabled, and I expected the phone to handle both seamlessly. However, it seems the incoming GSM call on SIM 2 interrupts the data connection on SIM 1, causing WhatsApp to disconnect.
After some research, I understand that this might be related to the phone's Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS) technology. Since DSDS uses a shared radio module, it prioritizes the GSM call over the mobile data connection, leading to the WhatsApp call drop.
My Questions to the Community:
1. Is this behavior expected for the Galaxy S24 Ultra?
2. Does anyone know if the device supports Dual SIM Dual Active (DSDA), which could resolve this issue?
3. Any additional tips to manage this seamlessly?
Looking forward to your insights and suggestions!

1. Yes it's normal that the phone terminated a data connection to allow ur gsm call through.
2. I don't think DSDA is an option even if u use an ESIM.
3. Use WiFi to call on WhatsApp, or the same network as the one relieving calls, to make a whatsapp call. These are not very helpful suggestions, but there is no real work around for it. I hope this helps

1. Yes, not only for the S24 Ultra for other phones as well.
2. No, I don't think DSDA is an option to resolve the problem. We can't connect 2 calls seamlessly at once.
3. There are no any additional tips to manage it seamlessly. But as Sadesh said, if you're at home, use WiFi to call on WhatsApp without using mobile data.
