After the android 12 update, Samsung clamis that, whenever an app uses mic or cam, there will be a green dot showing mic or cam is being used.

Let me tell what happened today.

My car has an aftermarket double din. Which has android auto.

I wanted Google to navigate to somewhere. And said "Ok Google". The system recognized and Google Assistant turned on for my command. Untill that moment, i didn't see any icon. But when Google Assistant wake up the green icons have started to be shown.

I mean, really? You are doing this green dot thing so called for privacy thing. But how the hell Google Assistant recognizes my call if i am not being listened meanwhile?

I don't buy this. It ıs just a PR.

Be honest Samsung. Don't act like it.

Merhaba OrBye,

Yazılım konsepti gereği sesiniz algılandığında, fotoğraf çekiminde vb. durumlarda kamera içerisinde bu yeşil nokta çıkmaktadır. Konsept gereğidir ve normal bir durumdur. Sizlerden gelen talepleri, her zaman değerlendirmekteyiz ve ilgili birimlere iletiyoruz.

Teşekkürler.

First aff all, this was firstly google's claim(as an author of android 12) so I dont think that problem comes from samsung. Also there might be an exception for background system activities and maybe thats why it hasn't show up until you woke up that assistant

Valla ben bunu yemedim. Bu açıklama sadece halkla ilişkiler çalışması.

Dürüst ol Samsung. Öyleymiş gibi davranma.

faruk07,

First of all, although i thank for your opinion, It is obvious that this thing is not being honest. If it goes like you mentioned, it means this system is picking apps. In this case, it cannot be said to be "whenever an app uses mic or cam".

Yes, I know it is Google's at first hand. But Samsung mentioned this in their update list as like it is their improvement. So, If Samsung claims this future like it is theirs, I could blame them for their inconsistency.

I am Samsung user maybe for a decade.

But this thing is getting serious. I would expect the maker of my product to be reliable.

You are completely right about samsung. But here is a problem: why does that companies decide to allow us to watching them while collecting our data at the background(simply that means you will see that green dot all the time😒) it will be like scoring an owngoal, right?

Edit: maybe samsung's claim was just about that future that comes with oneui4.0 , i think that must kill ALL of permissions.Screenshot_20220130-010326_Samsung Members.jpgScreenshot_20220130-010333_Settings.jpgScreenshot_20220130-010320_Samsung Members.jpgScreenshot_20220130-010816_Samsung Members.jpg
