My Note 20 device still hasn't received any updates since 2022...What could be the reason for that?

Yeah your device is from USA. This is mostly happening in US and Canada regional devices which are used in other regions.
We can try few things. First, turned off the device and remove the SIM cards (including Esims if any). Turned on amd connect to a wifi network and use VPN to connect USA. Then check if any updates are available to install. If not work it, you can flash the firmware to other regions like Sri Lanka (SLK). This required bit of technical assistance and you can find many tutorials from YouTube about firmware flashing. Final and the best option is to get the expert support from Samsung. You can visit to a Samsung Authorized Service Center and they will change the CSC to a compatible region for you. As far I know, it's a free of charge service 😊

Best thing is to change the CSC to SLK (Sri Lanka) Bro. Then you will again start to get the updates. I saw in Sammobile.com media Channel about Samsung news. They have said that Note 20 has got the March or February 2025 security update also.
You can change the CSC by looking at YouTube tutorials or go to Samsung Service Centre and do the job.

I saw that your device is SM-N981U having XAA csc.
SM-N981U- a US carrier locked Note 20 5G
XXA - US unlocked csc
Is this bought from US, or Did you change the csc to XAA?
1. You can try downloading Samsung Smart Switch PC and installing the firmware using it.
2. Or just flash the XXA csc firmware using odin to your device.
** You can not flash SLK firmware to this as this is not a Global Version Device. That belongs to OXM main csc.
