Everything you do in whatsapp save in Files, also save stories of your contacts in Files. Whether you see it or not..

You can clear the data of Gallery and files app.
Touch and hold on the gallery app > app info > storage > clear data.
same do to Files app.
Maybe will fix it..🤟
