No need to panic! ”
Have you heard of “Find My Mobile”?
Prepare for the worst,
when you lose one of life’s essentials, your smartphone.
Find out how you can track location, backup/erase data,
lock screen, and more to recover your lost device.
※ You must have set up your Samsung account
on the device to gain access to Find My Mobile.
In addition, you must allow connection to mobile networks
and for Google to collect location.
Setting up Find My Mobile
Setting up ‘Find My Mobile’ before you lose your device is a must!
Here’s how to prepare in advance!
1 Go to ‘Settings’ and click on ‘Biometrics and security’
2 Go to ‘Find My Mobile’ and log in after adding your Samsung account
3 Turn on ‘Remote controls’, ‘Google locations service’,
and ‘Send last location’
4 If desired, you may also turn on ‘Remote unlock’
Using Find My Mobile
So I’ve lost my device, what do I do?
Don’t worry, just visit the Find My Mobile website.
1 Access the ‘Find My Mobile’ website,
and log in to your registered ‘Samsung account’
2 Choose one of the options on the right side of your screen
※ Your device must be connected to mobile networks.
Find My Mobile Features
Let’s find out what types of features are
provided in Find My Mobile!
Track Location
- Track your lost device and find out its whereabouts, which is updated every 15 minutes.
- Tracked location history will be saved for seven days.
Lock my screen
- Remotely control your device to lock and display emergency contact and message on screen.
- While the function is on, you can prevent others from turning off your device.
Ring my device
- Find your device by having it ring even when the device sound is set to Vibrate or Mute.
- If your device is nearby, its ringtone will sound for 1 minute at maximum volume, helping you find your device.
Erase Data
- Protect your personal information by erasing data. You can erase all data stored on device and SD card through factory reset.
- ※ Once used, all data will be permanently erased, and you will no longer have access to the device.
- ※ To regain access to the device after you find the device, you must verify through the synced Google account.
Back up data
- Backup important files, photos, contact information, frequently used apps, and various data to Samsung Cloud.
- ※ Samsung Cloud offers 5GB of free storage. If you exceed this amount, backup will only proceed up to the permitted limit.
Retrieve calls/ messages history
- Curious about usage after losing your device? Check up to 50 recent calls and messages logged on your device.
- ※ Additional charges may apply when retrieving calls/messages. An activation alert will be sent to the device.
Unlock device
- Unlock your phone remotely if you cannot remember your pattern, password, or any other screen lock type.
- ※ Once used, all previous screen lock types (Pattern, PIN,Password, Biometrics) will be erased.
- ※ Starting in Android P, you can only use this feature after enabling ‘Remote unlock’ on your device’s Find My Mobile settings
Extend battery life
- Turn on the power saving mode and extend your battery life if your lost device is running low on battery.
- ※ The name of the power saving mode may vary depending on the device and its software version.
- ※ Once used, you will not be able to backup data to Samsung Cloud.
Set guardians
- Designate guardians that have access to remotely control your lost device. You can track location, run emergency mode, and ring your device through your guardian’s Samsung account.
- ※ Guardian’s Samsung account information required.
- ※ You can set the desired duration for ‘Set guardians’ feature.
