Suggestions📝 Feedback:
Hello Samsung Beta Team,
First, thank you again for the OEM Unlock removal in One UI 8 — it’s a huge step forward for theft protection and overall device security.
I’d like to suggest another important security enhancement:
Currently, on Galaxy devices, installing or uninstalling apps (including security apps like App Lock) can be done freely if the phone is unlocked. This creates a loophole where someone could remove or bypass security apps and then disable Location or tracking.
Suggested Improvement:
- Add a system-level option to require Samsung account password, phone PIN, or biometric authentication before any app can be installed or uninstalled — regardless of the app store used (Google Play, Galaxy Store, APK sideload).
Benefits:
- Prevents removal of security-critical apps like Find My Mobile, App Lock, parental control apps, etc.
- Stops sideloading of malicious apps without user consent.
- Complements other anti-theft features like Reactivation Lock, FRP, and the new OEM Unlock removal.
Why this matters:
Combined with password-protected Location toggles, this feature would make Galaxy devices — especially the S25 Ultra — extremely hard to tamper with, even if stolen while unlocked.
This would put Samsung at the very top of the smartphone security market alongside Apple’s ecosystem.
Thank you for considering this.
