Samsung should implement new AOD that should work on 1Hz with dim wallpaper as background rather than the full black background.

Similar to iOS.

If you think like this Samsung won't implement new features just because it impacts something.

They way aod working in android is different to what ios had implemented. Lets take example of your ultra... The aod is mostly pitch black utilizing the feature of amoled display to which to display black it turn its pixels off. In case of ios they dim the pixel but they are still in works.. That means more battery consumption compared to android aod.. So if your getting 1.5 days a battery currently after adding that something familiar that ios has it mike drain battery more..

And i think samsung wont implement it as they already have something better and efficient.. And dont want to release something inefficient as multiple customer will complaint regarding the battery issue even if impacting their device for 30 min less.

Android might get it as seperate app with can be configured with root.. So something like that.. But as os level its not easy thing to do.

Hi,

Don't take it negatively but that's not true.
I have recently bought iPhone 14 pro Max and it's AOD also has same feature where you can dim the display or only use widgets (similar to Samsung).

Also iPhones use Samsung's display so it is exactly the same. Apple just change the name and market it.

It's an software/OS feature that dims the display.

Trust me it does work properly as I am using both S22 ultra and 14 pro Max.

iPhone 14 pro max reduces display refresh rate to 1Hz which doesn't impact the battery that much. And when it is in pocket it automatically turns off the AOD as well (Tested myself and also check videos on youtube).

Same things is done by Samsung, when Samsung AOD is active it also uses 1Hz refresh rate. This shouldn't impact or change anything.

The live wallpaper surely impacts the battery life but not the AOD.

I would request you to check this iPhone fearure at your nearby store. It looks great and battery life on iPhone 14 is already very bad but still that AOD feature on it is what impressed me and other people too.

I just want Samsung to implement this feature and save themseleves.

Anyways it's upto you if you want to use the black AOD or the dim wallpaper AOD which that will be your choice. Atleast let samsung implement this feature.

I am not taking it negatively.. I am bored to get into discussion as this will go no where and we will end up wasting our time and energy. As a consumer your expectations are right. I was thinking technically more in terms of if this is needed or not. And we both have our own opinions. Have a nice day :)
