When is Samsung getting serious about its device camera functionality??.. I am running on the latest update III on my S22. And please accept my sentiment (sorry, if it sounds rude).

One word,pathetic!.

50MP Camera: The image reproduction is not all good.Is this by design?
I need an honest answer/response from an Samsung advocate. 12MP cam in an Apple,Google or China device like OnePlus devices captures more quality and details and image reproduction quality looks fantastic.

So what's the point of 40-50MP cameras? Again, it'sNOT just hardware, the image processing software engine/component plays a vital role. I've volunteered to almost all Samsung Beta Programs (S8, S21, now S22). The lack of enguinity in the Samsungs development is denting the brand reputation and user sentiments.

As a customer, the expectation is that we need equal results when we have been asked pay the same equal amount to a device to which its competition delivers better results.

If this is something expected in your product, I have second thoughts about moving to something else.

Looking forward to hearing from you, yall.

Regards
Tejaswi

Agreed,It's because the camera app and image processing engine are not properly developed or designed to utilize the given hardware.

I mean, 30K INR devices like chinese One+ delivers better detailing and image production quality when compared.

Samsung hasn't focused enough on developing image processing techniques as much as it focused on UI enhancement, which is a big disappointment!

If you compare with Apple, the new iPhone 14 costs pretty much the same as S22 5G. It has the same camera form factors, the only difference is that Apple use enriched and modern image processing techniques compared to Samsung.

Just check the spec, they are all same. But the software end is extremely well designed to handel the 12MP and the results are incredible.

So, question is when will Samsung get serious about this key feature? We are almost near the gates of 2023. Samsung Camera quality has been still stuck in 2013!

Bro, exactly..glad to find some like minded people like you here aswell...i posted about implementing 2x optical zoom just like the way apple and Google did it...because our s22 primary sensor has 50mp...samsung can also do it...but dumb people be questioning me instead and saying we already have 2x zoom...they don't even know the difference between an optical zoom and a digital crop in.

Thank you! Yep, agreed. Samsung's image processing techniques are not mature enough to handle the hardware. (We need to admit that fact).

So there comes my next question: What's the point of selling devices in premium flagship range with 50-60 MP cameras when the software is not designed to handle it properly? I mean, the image quality doesn't seem to be one from 75K phone. It moreover looks like an antic device back from 2013.

Can you imagine Apple had such hardware, the image production quality? Or Google (Apple just rips human organs every time a new product is launched to the market!)
