Does A52(not 5G) device support Esim?

Hi 

I am going out of seas for a vacation and I want to take my A52 phone with me. I never use an ESim before, but I thought that it might work. 

I looked up my phone model and I found out from a website, that it not support Esim. 

Is that so?

What are the other options?

Can I replace to a local Sim without harming whatsapp and google Backups?

Mid-range devices mostly doesn't support eSIM.
