I bout a new Android A52 and still try to find my way around it's operating system. My previous Samsung phone is quite old, but it's UI suite me. My needs are pritty strait forward: High quality Camera and music/media expiriance, messaging and no need of third party apps and no ads!( local phone apps)

Dont get me wrong, There are some improvements in this new Android version, but some of Samsung decesions just escape my mind:
1. Phrase base Spam message blocker(which I have already wrote a post about)

2. Restart/turn on and off device. Why Bixby suddenly pop up? No senseh what so ever.

3.Music player? video player?
Where is it?
Why configure Youtube as the device defult media player?
If I had the skill would have root my device and tear Youtube apart from it.

Yes..Samsung music player is still available in the Samsung store, but it is not compatble with the device new operating system.
Coincidence?
I dont think so.

I think Samsung want to expose us to more adds content. You might just go and get Redmi instead. You see ads even when you making a call.
Samsung? This is where we are going?
What do you guys think?

Hey,

Happy to hear you bought a new device!

1. I saw your post, and community members responded to you.
The return of the feature is being examined by the development team.

2. You can change the setting of the side Key.

Go to Settings > Advanced features > Side Key > Press and hold > choose power off menu.

3. In the new operating system, some of the applications no longer come built-in to free up space and give the user the option to customize.

You can install Samsung music through Play Store.

4. You mentioned that you see ads during a call it may be the caller ID and spam protection.

You can disable that feature through Phone app > 3 dots > Settings > turn off the switch next to the setting.

Hey, I'm a new owner of the A33. I have a question for you, why did samsung music remove their spotify feature? I switched to using OPPO for a few years and I realized how it was having a platform that accommodates both my streaming and mp3 music like that. I would appreciate your feedback

Hi, welcome to the Samsung Members community!

There is a link to Spotify from the Samsung Music app but not to the personal library. There was no support for this before either.

Thank you for you rsponse. Now About the turn on and off functionality, I have figure out how to change it myself. I was just trying ro understand the logic behind Bixby being there in the first place.

I have install the music app you mentioned. It has ads The common user "Deal" is "free apps"=ads in the background. Buying a samsung device meaninng me paying for it and it's built-in App. Even if the app is available only in Google play or Galaxy store.

In addition the app contain unwanted Api which require Online connection.
I just want to play Mp3 files from my device, without ads, Spotify and a browser kind of platform. I think I have made my point. Its ok if you disagree, but this is my opinion.

By the way the app size vary between 8 to 12 Mb. Galaxy devices come with 128Gb, which leaves atleast one handred Gb free, including the operating system. So there is plenty of room.

If Samsung use the "customize kind of argue", then its developers and teams should put an ad free Media Player in the app stores.

I listen to music through Samsung music and I have no ads.
You can remove sync with Spotify through the app > tap on 3 dots > choose Settings > Manage tabs > uncheck the Spotify tab.

Each person chooses how to use his device, what is convenient for you will not necessarily be convenient for another user.

In the first stages of operating the device we suggest installing our application package, you may have chosen to skip it.

Hope I was able to help a little with getting used to the new version and answering your questions.
