I keep seeing articles online relating to alot of fe edition products from samsung ,I just trying to figure out samsung product plan map and why they doing this 🤔
If you're asking why they're doing FE smartphones it's because of the Note 7 batteries exploding.
After discontinuing the Note 7 they made the Note FE with a smaller battery in the hopes that it won't explode again and it was well received. Fast forward a bit and they discontinued the galaxy A70s since the FE target market was between the high end galaxy A and under the base galaxy S(in terms of hardware specifications, there was not much difference between the FE and the A70s so they discontinued the A70s, that's why now the highest end galaxy a is the a50s)
So to answer your question, at first the FE was to help Samsung get away from the PR nightmare that came with the Note 7 exploding but now because the galaxy S were becoming a lot more expensive, the FE product's purpose changed to becoming a phone with specifications that were closer to the high end but still more 'affordable' to buy than the flagships.
The same could be said for the galaxy tab FE, it's above the Tab A but below the high end Tab S (in terms of specs)
Last note: They also used it as an excuse to compete with the iPhone sales at the end of the year 😎
