Samsung pushed the second One UI 5.0 Beta update for the Galaxy Note 20 series devices in the US. The update comes with various bug fixes for improved performance, but the changelog lists that the update removes Google Discover as well.

According to the info, the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra smartphone users have recently started getting the second build of One UI 5.0 Beta in the US. It removes the Google Discover, from the minus one (-1) screen, which comes set pre-default in the US variants.

The reason behind this change is unknown while seems like, Samsung wants to promote Samsung Free instead of Google Discover in the United States, similar to Global units. The Galaxy S21 series debuted Google Messages as the default messaging app in the US, and now it’s happening just the opposite.

Apart from this, the second One UI 5.0 Beta update fixes the focus issue of Camera Pro video mode in UHD60 and FHD60 sizes. Moreover, the update also improves ANR/crash, and memory leak issues alongside the delayed operation while taking screenshots.

Bugs that have been fixed:

  • Camera Pro video mode size (UHD60, FHD60) focus function error
  • ANR/Crash, sluggish, memory leak issue
  • Kernel panic occurs while entering the App after extering despad_dexmode
  • Sluggish issue that floats late when you run capture on the IDLE screen
  • Remove Google Discovery
  • Other minor bug fixes
