software updates aren't the reason we buy phones. You buy phones for the functionality and use case. Android works better with Windows PC. iPhone and PC is a nightmare unlike with mac.

There's versatility and freedom in use with android unlike iOS which you are stuck in how you use it.

Imagine going to iOS because you receive your updates timely but get frustrated with use case and have to do workarounds all the time just to do basic stuff.

Some sends you a song on WhatsApp, now you have to save it to a particular app in order to access it and it won't appear on apple music.

Personally, software support ranks high on why I buy a phone, I even upgrade as soon as my phone is no longer supported.

We all know the pros and cons.

On iPhone some features are always reserved for the latest models regardless of the support length, whatever feature is announced you might not get it. I understand that you keep your phone until it's no longer supported. I also do the same generally. I'll be keeping my S23 Ultra until it's no longer supported. I understand that software updates support becomes less as the device ages.

I agree. People have forgotten so quickly that IOS didn't even have widgets until recently.. I can't leave android because of all the features, like being able to install launchers or even change your ROM through rooting. The real issue is that Android 14 was overhyped, and now it feels unfair that some are getting it before others... so my point is that both software and hardware are important, but android allows you the freedom to change your software easily if you really don't want to wait. You can't do that on IOS

Well it's OneUI 6, mostly it's just the visual difference in some aspects of the software. that's what people are clamouring for. Very few if none commented on the new functionality like holding down one widget and scrolling with your other hand. The fact that you can copy text from pictures and you can lift a subject from a picture and use as a sticker from the gallery. It's already feature rich.

Exactly, I haven't been able to try all the new features, but one new feature I've been really appreciating is having the camera app scan and automatically crop documents for me.. the features offered by Samsung are so great. You hardly see other phone companies offer features like Samsung dex. Now imagine all the other features that go unnoticed

Android is close to a full fledged computer than an iPhone

I feel that it's more usable than iOS for those functions especially when you have Dex Mode. IOS just forces you to use it in that format.. even screen mirror doesn't help

The Android operating system allows you to manage files and folders with much more freedom than iOS does. You can view and organize your files on your phone just like you would on a PC.

Android phones also connect with laptops or tablets with no setup required. You can quickly and easily transfer files between your phone and any computer. Sharing and saving photos, videos, and other types of media and documents is as simple as it gets.
