The article's for a Good Lock module called Nice Catch, only useful for developers and someone interested in troubleshooting their devices and doesn't affect the average user.

But if your device isn't eligible for One UI 8, some users might release an apk file for the app with the bug fixed.

They'll most likely add the bug fix to a security patch but it's unlikely getting another major update once the initial software support has expired
