Samsung's Blade Lights are cool, now let's take them to the next level

Samsung's Blade Lights made me a believer, and I hope that the upcoming Galaxy buds 4 pro will go one step further and adopt RGB. What are Blade Lights? Simply put, they are white LED strips that run across the stem of each earbud (see the image above). The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro are the first and only Samsung wireless earbuds equipped with this LED strip, but I have high hopes from the Buds 4 Pro.

I'm usually not a big fan of flashy lights, in custom-built PCs or articles of clothing, but I must admit that the Blade Lights look interesting, and I'm not bothered by their inclusion. Maybe I played too much Cyberpunk 2077 over the last year. Plus, Blade Lights can be disabled if you don't like how they look, so I don't mind them either way.

Looking toward the near future, I hope Samsung fully embraces RGB with the upcoming Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. I believe that the Blade Light concept still has a lot of untapped potential, and Samsung could create many more interesting experiences by adding more color. Here are some ideas I hope Samsung will consider.

I want RGB Blade Lights that can sync with other devices

Although the all-white Blade Lights were a good start, why not give future Galaxy Buds 4 Pro users even more options to express themselves?

Adding RGB seems like the next logical step in the evolution of Blade Lights. With RGB, users could create custom colorful light patterns or even match the color of their clothing or accessories — such as Galaxy Watch bands.

Even better, why not create a feature that allows users to match the color of the RGB Blade Lights with the dominant color of their Galaxy Watch faces or smartphone wallpapers?

A few other features I think Samsung should explore include:
Music-reactive lights: RGB Blade Lights change color or pulse depending on the music you're listening to.

Samsung Health sync: Lights reflect your Energy Score or Mood from Samsung Health (as monitored by your Galaxy Watch).

Mode-based colors: Automatically change the RGB Blade Lights based on the active Mode on your Galaxy phone or Watch.
And, I know. If you are interested purely in the practical qualities of wireless earbuds and Blade Lights, you don't need RGB. The white LED strips suffice. You might even think that Blade Lights are tacky and should always be disabled.
But Blade Lights are a reality, so while we're at it, I say Samsung should fully commit to the idea and include RGB Blade Lights in the upcoming Galaxy Buds 4 Pro.

I don't think it would cost Samsung much to add RGB lights. And as long as they remain optional and Samsung gives users the option to disable them, I don't see how more color options could hurt the user experience.

I am aware that this opinion may receive some pushback from users who are focused entirely on practicality and may think that Samsung should remove the Blade Lights or at least leave them as they are in the Buds 3 Pro.

But I say Samsung should go the extra mile and make RGB Blade Lights a reality. I'd even be willing to pay a couple of extra bucks for the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro to have those additional colorful options.
