The 3.5mm headphone jack is surely on its way out, with customers left with very few competitive options in case they still care about the headphone jack and wired earphones. Bluetooth audio peripherals, namely earphones and headphones, are touted as the best replacement for the outgoing wires — and we can certainly debate all day on whether wireless headphones are better than their wired counterparts. But if you are in the market for some shiny new wireless earphones, Samsung wants you to check out its latest wireless audio lineup beyond the Galaxy Buds, with the launch of the AKG Y100, AKG Y500, AKG N200, and AKG N700NC headphones and earphones in India.
All four models will be available through Samsung E-store, exclusive outlets, and all top retailers. They will also be available at leading online portals.
The AKG Y100 is a neck-band type wireless earphone that focuses on a mix of lightweight design and crisp and clean sound. This earphone comes with Ambient Aware technology, allowing users to let in surrounding ambient sound by activating the Ambient Aware Mode. Other features include support for AAC codec, fast charging, and multi-point connectivity (up to 2 devices). The AKG Y100 comes in Black, Blue, Green, and Pink colors for a price of ₹6,699 (~$95).
The AKG Y500 is an on-ear wireless headphone, promising up to 33 hours of playback time. You also get features such as Ambient Aware, support for AAC codec, fast charging, and multi-point connectivity. Additionally, the headphones can detect when you take them off and wear them back on, and can play/pause music automatically on those actions. The AKG Y500 comes in Black, Blue, Green, and Pink color options for a price of ₹9,999 (~$141).
The AKH N200 are in-ear wireless ‘athleisure’ earphones, with a fabric cable and holders to securely hold them in place within your ears while you exercise. The earphones claim to provide up to 8 hours of playback, with support for features such as Ambient Aware, Apt-X and AAC codec, fast charging, and multi-point connectivity. The AKG N200 comes in Black, Blue, and Green color options for a price of ₹9,999 (~$141).
AKG N700NC M2.
The AKG N700NC is one of Samsung’s flagship headphones that comes with Adaptive Noise Cancelling technology and promises warm bass response and unmatched clarity. The design of the headphone allows them to be folded flat, and Samsung is also including accessories like an airline adapter, a carrying case and a tangle-free fabric cable with one-button remote, allowing you to use and care for your headphones better. The AKG N700NC promises 23 hours of playback. The headphone comes in a single Black color and costs a cool ₹26,999 (~$380), which is slightly more expensive than the class-leading Sony WH-1000XM3 (though you can get the Sony headphones for as cheap as ₹23,490 ($330) during sales).
