Samsung’s next generation of earbuds, the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, has been revealed through details found directly inside One UI 8.5 system files. Unlike standard rumors, these findings come straight from Samsung’s own software. Here is a detailed look at what to expect:
1. Complete Redesign
Samsung is ditching the "blade" design seen on the Galaxy Buds 3. The new Buds 4 lineup will feature:
Flatter stems and smoother edges.
A more compact profile.
A fully redesigned charging case.
2. New Colors
While Samsung is keeping the classic Silver and bringing back Black, the standout addition this year is a brand-new color:
Apricot: Described as sitting between pink and peach, this soft light tone gives the buds a unique visual identity distinct from the standard white of competitors like AirPods.
3. Battery Upgrades (and Downgrades)
One of the most significant reveals from the APK teardown concerns battery life:
Galaxy Buds 4 Pro (Upgrade): The battery capacity per earbud is increasing to 61 mAh (up from 53 mAh on the Buds 3 Pro). This is the first time in years Samsung has increased the earbud battery capacity, which should result in meaningful playtime improvements.
Standard Galaxy Buds 4 (Downgrade): Conversely, the standard model sees a reduction to 45 mAh (down from 48 mAh on the Buds 3), a confusing move for the entry-level option.
4. New "Pro" Features
The Buds 4 Pro are getting distinct features to separate them from the pack:
Case Speaker: The charging case now includes a built-in speaker next to the pairing button. This allows you to locate the case itself (not just the buds) using your phone if it gets lost.
Head Gestures: A major hands-free upgrade allows users to control their device by nodding or shaking their head. You can answer calls, dismiss alarms, and even respond "Yes" or "No" to AI assistants without touching the buds.
5. Software Integration
Samsung is streamlining the user experience. You will no longer need to open the separate Galaxy Wearable app to adjust settings. When connected, a dedicated Galaxy Buds section will appear directly inside your phone's main Settings app.
Launch Date
The Galaxy Buds 4 series is expected to launch alongside the Galaxy S26 lineup at the next Samsung Unpacked event, currently rumored for February 25th in San Francisco.
