SMS service on Watch6 LTE?

Ive been using watch6 LTE with s24.
When watch is connected with phone, I receive sms on both the phone and watch simultaneously. 

Whereas if I use watch on LTE without phone (Swith off or flight mode), I do not receive any sms. 

So my understanding is, sms will work only when connected with phone on bluetooth? Or is there a workaround? I intend to use only the watch on LTE while going out keeping my phone behind. And receiving sms on tap to pay is essential for me.

Anyone had experience on this, please guide.

As per your query, we want to inform you that "There can be two different scenarios:

1. If the watch & mobile have one number then if the remotely connected phone is not active (Switch off or flight mode) the messages will not send/receive.

2. If Watch is having separate independent sim connection then messages will be sent/received successfully".

In case the issue still occurs, kindly report the problems with a log file. Also, share video clips and images for better understanding. To share a log file, click on the Samsung Members Application (Open Samsung Members Application > Support> Tap on error report > Type your query > Send).
