Does anyone know if it is mandatory to switch to an esim from a physical sim in the phone if an lte capable watch has to be connected?

The LTE variants of Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic are equipped with eSIM functionality to connect to your telecom carrier's network. (You have to configure eSIM in the watch.)

Thanks for your response. I actually want to know if it is mandatory to have an esim in the phone to be able to connect the watch5 pro lte version or whether the type of sim in the phone has no relevance to connection of watch?

If you are in the United Arab Emirates you have to visit the nearest telecoms provider and transform your normal SIM to ESIM
