Samsung’s latest flagship earbuds, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, bring many new features. One of them is support for Samsung Scalable Code Ultra High Quality (SSC UHQ), which offers 24-bit audio at a 96KHz sampling rate for improved audio quality. Until now, this feature worked only with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. That’s because it requires One UI 6.1.1, which was available only on those two devices. Well, not anymore.
Earlier today, Samsung started rolling out One UI 6.1.1 to a lot of devices. Among them are the Galaxy S24Galaxy S24+, and the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The new software brings many new features. One of them is support for SSC UHQ, as you can see in the screenshot below. With that, now when you connect the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro to the Galaxy S24, they both will work over this codec, allowing the earbuds to offer higher audio quality than before.
Note that you might have to enable UHQ on your phone manually. To do that, connect your Galaxy Buds 3 Pro to your Galaxy S24. Then, on your phone, go to Settings » Galaxy Buds 3 Pro » Advanced Sound Quality Options and enable UHQ. Samsung says that enabling this feature might cause audio delay in some scenarios. It also says that SSC UHQ might drain the battery of your phone and earbuds at a faster rate.
