Experience with Galaxy Fit 3 after a week

Conditions --> Connected with S21 FE E2100 version ; Always On Display Off, Raise to wake Off, Continuos HR & SpO2 monitoring ON with sleep + snore detection ON

Aim to buy this --> Wanted a slim tracker for basic needs & especially sleep tracking as can't sleep with bulky watches (& traditional watches are better IMHO esp wrt battery life)

1. Design & Build --> Solidly build, feels light & tiny in hand : watch strap is soft & comfortable & haven't felt any reaction! Watch strap detach mechanism is easy, swift & fast

A) --> strap is a bit small size & I'm not very muscular nor a gym person; still, I buckle it, leaving 2/3 holes prior! Impressions may be engraved on your skin, which resolves soon after buckling off!

Also, as it's a new product with a specialized mechanism, I don't think we will be getting new 3rd party straps & other accessories.

2. Display --> Vibrant, True AMOLED makes pics pop-up, I feel size adequate ; Has a button right side that acts as home/watchface <you can confiure which hand you want to wear during intial setup & later too>

B) --> However, the bottom bezel is ridiculously large & that dampens the looks a bit, IMO! I hope Samsung should make this bezel smaller & hence the display could be a bit larger

3. Battery --> Received it at around 50%, charged it till 91% ( some calibration issues were there as it randomly showed 74 for quite some time while charging )

I could use 3 days with battery 90% to 25%

Charging is fast & I will advise you to keep it for charging while you are taking your shower & that should help you last for 2-3 days easily

C)---> I don't think it will last 13 days as advertised, but I should hope to last for a week

4. Software --> Runs on RTOS, which is efficient & light on power ; has some predefined apps/programs like timer/alarm/stopwatch, etc

Has plenty of watchface & some are really good! You can store a bunch of them in the band itself to quickly change a/c to mood or occasion

The camera controller works as expected but would have been a boon to have a preview image appear on the face itself & I believe it only has support for photos only

Music playback is also fine! But remember, you can't store any music in the band for offline playback; you need to have your phone connected! Music controller controls your earphones, too ( in my case Galaxy Buds+ )

D) --> Many perks that I have could have been easily resolved with a low power version of Tizen OS! Had LG been in this space, I would have appreciated WebOS also

5. Fitness Features -->
Workouts :- It has many workouts to choose for. I usually go for a leisurely walk of about 30 minutes. Automatic workout detection is ok (however, I usually click it on my band), but the workout pauses whenever I stop walking & starts automatically ASA I start walking! Haven't tested other workouts

SpO2/HR :- Works as intended & it doesn't show random data if kept off the wrist or kept over a table! Do note that SpO2 may be off if the fit is not snug.

Stress :- I have no idea how they keep track of it, but it shows the levels as expected ( I have kept it to be ON always ). The band shows the breathing exercises to relax

Sleep :- THE MAIN PURPOSE WHY I CHOSE A BAND IS TO KEEP A GOOD TRACK OF SLEEP! The sleep tracking is good, though I will say that the sleep timing may be off by 20-30mins ( I say MAY as I don't see when it will pick up the sleep as well I would be sleeping ) During sleep it tracks all the required parameters fine.

Naps & Afternoon sleep are also tagged however the stats show them to be LIGHT SLEEP only ( only 2 instances - one for about 20mins, other was shy of 2h )!

The app shows the detailed features & you can interact with them! It gives an overall sleeping score & should guide us to make it better. Also has a quirky snore detection feature

Others :- Has water counter, food calorie & cycle tracker

E)--> An included GPS would probably have benefitted more consumers, though at a price! However for me, it wasn't an issue.

NOTE :- Don't rely on these for medical purposes & they aren't made for these purposes!

As a Dr myself, I would advise members to strictly use these cautiously & if any discrepancies are seen, please refer to medical professionals! I follow these to gauge a general well-being of my health, if I see SpO2 continously staying low or HR elevated I will consult surely.

Can add events/ calendars, etc, on the band face also

Conclusion :- Nice fitness band at a good (but not cheap) price from the house of Samsung, which delivers what it promises!

Cons :-
See point A), B), C), D) & E) for some peeves as they are major things to remember

1. The battery probably won't last 13 days
2. Thicker bottom bezel
3. 5K INR is not cheap for most --> can check Amazfit for band (& newly launched HONOR Watch at similar range)

Miscellaneous :- These are some interesting facts that I have noted :-

1. Tried to charge via tablet, didn't charge
2. App --> As it's impossible to have other apps, at least Samsung Music could be given so that one can access songs, playlist etc ; while now only play/pause & volume control is available
3. The watch faces could have interacting elements, i.e., if you click on steps, then the steps counter should open or click on HR, you can directly messure Heart Rate, etc
4. If Youtube is being played & you pause the video & the phone screen is turned off/ locked, you don't need to open/ unlock the phone to play. Just hit play on your band to continue playing the video. ( also with other apps ) Buds don't do that for YouTube
5. You can see Album Art of the song that's playing in the band itself [ I use Musicolet app to play offline media more than Samsung Music ]

ALBUM ART ON THE BAND

Will provide a new post later with any other Miscellaneous things that I may notice!

I was busy with some committments hence couldn't test it properly, esp fiddling around w/o any phone connection, adding different devices etc

See you then & feel free to add your queries or suggestions to try them out!

Thanks

Well, my tab ( Galaxy Tab S7 ) doesn't recognize the band , probably because it's connected to my phone!

As I'm waiting for that " sleep coach " which needs data for 1-2 more days & as I don't know if the data will be reset or be preserved, hence don't want to take a blind leap of faith (prb won't be deleted but still)

Thus, now I can say that Fit3 can only be added to only 1 device from my experience!

Not working with tablets. Here is a catch it start auto walking when u only move ur hand up and down 💀 even though it connected to phone (it doesn't figure out that the person is not moving or location is not changing; it start auto walking by displaying "good keep going😈" ).

There is a bug in watch. #Galaxy Fit3 whenever I am doing running workout, it is calculating everything correct but after the workout when the data is synced to phone and when it shows the summary my steps taken in the running workout are not being added to the total steps counter. Running workout is having this problem. The steps taken during running workout is showing on the workout details page, but the steps are not being added to the steps counter. This is a major bug and needs to be fixed urgently.
