TipsAs a beta tester, I’ve gathered critical feedback regarding the "fluidity" and "utility" of One UI. To make our software feel as premium as our hardware, I am proposing the following key changes:
1. Universal "Live Progress" Status System
- The Concept: Move beyond the limited "Now Bar." We need a system-wide API for background tasks.
- Implementation: A dynamic circular progress ring around the camera cutout or the status bar clock.
- Usage: This should trigger for ANY active progress: Instagram/Snapchat story uploads, large file downloads in Chrome, or media sent via WhatsApp.
- Goal: Users should see "how much is left" instantly without pulling down the notification shade.
2. Professional "Pro-Mode" Flashlight (Torch)
- Smooth Dimming: Replace the 1–5 steps with a 0–100% vertical slider. No more "steps"—it should be a smooth "liquid" transition with haptic ticks.
- Beam Control: Use the hardware array to allow users to adjust Throw vs. Width.
- Flood Mode: Wide, soft light for rooms.
- Throw Mode: Narrow, long-distance beam.
3. High-Fidelity Social Media Integration
- Origin-Point Animations: When "liking" a Reel or Story, the heart animation should grow from the exact spot my thumb touches the screen and move toward the icon. It feels much more organic than static animations.
- Camera Bridge: Full optimization so that Instagram/Snapchat viewfinder quality is identical to the native Camera app.
- 120Hz Reactions: Ensure all in-app floating icons (hearts/reactions) use spring-physics at a full 120Hz.
4. "Liquid" Interruptible Animations
- Non-Blocking Logic: If I swipe to close an app while it is still opening, the animation should instantly reverse mid-air and follow my finger back. It should feel like a physical object, not a pre-set video clip.
5. Bixby: Contextual "Intent" Overhaul
- Smart Overlays: Bixby should appear as a small Live Card overlay, never taking me out of my current app.
- Problem Solving: If I say "My eyes hurt," Bixby should automatically combine Eye Comfort Shield, Dark Mode, and Lower Brightness in one action.
Let’s make One UI 8.5 the smoothest OS in the world! Please upvote if you want to see these features in the stable build.
