Quick Connect feature in Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900H) allows you to easily search and connect to nearby devices. You can conveniently share content stored on your device with computers. You can also use the device as a remote control by connecting it to a TV.

Quick Connect is a screen mirroring feature on Samsung devices that are using the Android Marshmallow operating system and below. If you're using a more recent version of Android, you can connect using screen mirroring, Smartview or SmartThings instead.

earlier the feature called quick connect which follows same principal of the latest quick share option 

this quick connect was Samsung first airdrop feature introduced in the device called s5 which was debuted in the following devices 

s5 to s7 

a5 2015 series 

and a8 2015 

this feature is called a multi-level airdrop, connecting to smart devices and sharing data to Samsung phone just like the airdrop 

now this feature in modern-day has been divided  into various parts 

quick connect now has divided parts into three parts 

1 Samsung connect through which you access your smart connected devices which later on converted to media and devices  later converted to smart things 

to connect and control the devices anything which is connected and stored on your device 

2 quick share  obviously an airdrop 

3 phone visibility now converted to quick share same as above but here you cant share anything 

basically the quick connect was the feature of three in one, which later divided to the above following parts 

although quick connect offered the same functionality 

basically the quick connect was the feature of the airdrop, mirror cast, connecting to devices, sharing files and controlling the device and lot more basically it was the ultimate form of modern quick share, smart things, and phone visibility, screen mirroring

so Samsung did have the best ecosystem control but since we know that it was too much underrate and most of them weren't aware of this feature  so Samsung has to divide them into pieces but is was he ultimate functions of all the three parts mentioned above
