These days most of our work happens on a computer. Without computer many things cannot take place. While working on a computer or chatting on a computer, the main thing that takes place is typing. If we manage to improve our typing speed, we can be more efficient and save our time. So in this post I am going to be telling you how I improved by typing speed and how you can also be more efficient.

So lets start by understand what words per minute mean.
Words per minute or wpm is used to show how fast someone can type. It is also used to measure the typing speed. The average typing speed is about 40 wpm.
Earlier, I used to type very slow. Now, I type about 65-70 wpm. You won't believe but earlier I used to type around 30 wpm. Yes, 30 wpm.
Now you might be wondering how to measure typing speed or wpm. There are certain websites degined that count the wpm you type. How?
The websites show random words that you have to type in a minute. As you type, the website counts the words you type.
How to improve typing speed?
There are some rules and techniques to follow.
First and foremost get a keyboard.
1. Accuracy: When you start typing, the most important thing is accuracy. Make sure your accurary is about 87%. Dont try to type veryyy fast. It will result in mis-spelled words and reduced accuracy.
2. Practice: Practice makes a man perfect. The same thing applies here. With daily practice of about 10-15 minutes, you can improve your speed.
3. Hand layout: There is a specific handlayout to keep while typing atleast for beginners. I dont know how to explain this. You can watch a youtube video or read an article on google to understand this. After a perid of time you will automatically assign some keys for some letters and also maybe change the assgined letters to each key. Remember, this should happen on its own and you should not think about it.
4. Dont look at the keybaord: When typing, dont try to look at the keyboard for the first few days you can look at it when you dont know. But after that try clicking every key nearby witht the assigned finger. Gradually with practice you will get every key right.
5. Muscle memory: Each finger will press some specified letters. Your fingers on its own know where to go and press which key. If you tell me to draw a keyboard, I wont be able to do so.
So now you have to use some websites to type and improve typing speed.
