Samsung Electronics has unveiled the M8, a new Smart Monitor series with a more elegant appearance. The Samsung M8 comes in four new colours: Warm White, Sunset Pink, Daylight Blue, and Spring Green — and is available in 32-inch sizes with UHD resolution and a SlimFit Cam.
Samsung's Smart Monitor series, which debuted in November 2020, is a family of the world's first do-it-all displays built for modern customers who expect a device that provides both usefulness and entertainment at home. The M8 is not just a standard monitor, but it also allows users to watch Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, and Apple TV through Wi-Fi without needing to connect to a PC or television.
When it comes to appearance, the Smart Monitor M8 combines space and productivity in a sleek design. The new model is 11.4mm thin, which is nearly three-quarters thinner than prior models. The M8's variety of hues developed on attractive warm white suits any space according to the user's own tastes and has a smart flat-back design.
"We wanted to make a product that could fit the lives and tastes of a wide range of individuals," said Kyounghoon Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Design Team, Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Business. "The colour palette for the M8 was inspired by the concept 'Shades of Nature,' which consisted of four distinct hues. The Smart Monitor M8 has it all when it comes to productivity. By connecting to numerous IT devices through the updated Smart Hub, the M8 creates a great home office environment without the use of a PC. The Workspace User Interface brings all of the services needed to work together on one screen, allowing users to connect wirelessly to a Windows or Mac PC and take advantage of a variety of useful features such as Samsung DeX, Apple AirPlay 2, and Microsoft's 365 cloud service, as well as mirroring content from a smartphone to the M8.
Furthermore, the Smart Monitor M8 includes a magnetic and detachable SlimFit Cam that can be attached to the monitor while removing any unsightly cords from the desk. Face Tracking and Auto Zoom are also included in the SlimFit Cam, which quickly recognises a person's face on screen and automatically focuses on the topic. In other words, it can track and record a single speaker, making it ideal for active presentations or live streaming. In addition, the SlimFit Cam supports video chat programmes like Google Duo, allowing users to work remotely or participate in video conferencing at home or at work.
