  • Samsung has listed all the Galaxy devices eligible for three major Android updates.
  • The list includes flagships, tablets, foldables, and Galaxy A series phones.
Samsung is really upping its software update game. Last year the company declared that it would provide three years of Android updates to its 2019 and 2020 Galaxy flagships. Taking things a step further, Samsung has announced in August of 2020 a whole bunch of Galaxy devices eligible for three years of Android updates, including tablets, foldables, and the cheaper Galaxy A series of phones.

Samsung Galaxy S series

In the Galaxy S series, Samsung has promised three years of Android updates to all Galaxy S10 and S20 variants. Sadly, the Galaxy S9 series doesn’t figure in the list. This means that Android 10 would be the last update for the S9 and S9 Plus, given that they launched with Android Oreo.

As for the Galaxy S10 series, you can expect Android 12 to be its last update. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S20S20 Plus, and S20 Ultra are in line to get Android 13 in the future. Samsung has also said that the S20 series will be the first to get Android 11 later this year, followed by other devices.

Here’s a full list of all Galaxy S series devices on Samsung’s three-year update schedule:

  • Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G/4G
  • Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus 5G/4G
  • Samsung Galaxy S20 5G/4G
  • Samsung Galaxy S10 4G/5G
  • Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus
  • Samsung Galaxy S10e
  • Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite
  • Samsung Galaxy All upcoming S series devices

Samsung Galaxy Note series

In the Galaxy Note series, only the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 20 phones are eligible for three years of Android OS updates. So we’re not expecting to see Android 11 on the Galaxy Note 9. The Galaxy Note 10 series will get the new OS and Android 12 will be its last major OS update. The Galaxy Note 20 phones, just like the Galaxy S20 flagships, will be eligible to get Android 13.

Here’s a full list of all Galaxy Note series devices on Samsung’s three-year update schedule:

  • Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G/4G
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 20 5G/4G
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G/4G
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 10 5G/4G
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite
  • All upcoming Note series devices

Other Samsung Galaxy devices eligible for three Android updates

Besides Samsung’s flagship phones, the company will also be extending its three updates policy to devices like the Galaxy Tab S7, high-end Galaxy A series phones, and all its foldables. Below is a complete list.

Galaxy A series

  • Samsung Galaxy A71 4G/5G
  • Samsung Galaxy A51 4G/5G
  • Samsung Galaxy A90 5G
  • Select upcoming A series of devices

Galaxy foldable devices

  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G/4G
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G/4G
  • Samsung Galaxy Fold 5G/4G
  • All future Z series devices

Galaxy tablets

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S6
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite
  • All future Tab S series devices

For Galaxy devices not on this list, Samsung says it “is committed to providing the latest Android OS upgrades until the hardware specifications allow to provide the optimized mobile experience.”
