Post-2022, this policy was extended, with most flagship and mid-tier phones receiving four OS updates and five years of security patches.
Samsung To End Software Updates for Several Galaxy Devices in 2024
A major shift occurred with the launch of the Galaxy S24 series, where Samsung introduced an unprecedented seven years of OS and security updates for flagship models, setting a new industry standard. However, despite these advances, several older Galaxy phones have now reached their end-of-life in terms of software support.
List of Galaxy Devices Losing Updates in 2024
As Samsung continues to focus on its newer models, some older devices will no longer receive security patches or OS updates. Below is the complete list of Galaxy phones and tablets that will no longer be eligible for updates in 2024:
Galaxy A Series:
- Galaxy A71
- Galaxy A51
- Galaxy A41
- Galaxy A31
- Galaxy A21
