Hey Galaxy fans,

We all know Samsung makes some of the best hardware and software, but it's still dependent on Android. While One UI is amazing, imagine if Samsung had its own operating system (One OS), fully optimized for Galaxy devices.

Why Samsung Needs One OS:

✔ Better Performance & Battery Life – A Samsung-built OS can be lighter, faster, and better optimized for Galaxy devices.
✔ Less Dependence on Google – Samsung already has alternatives to Google apps (Galaxy Store, Samsung Pay, Samsung Internet, etc.). Why not take full control?
✔ Stronger Ecosystem – (One OS) could seamlessly connect Galaxy phones, tablets, watches, and even home devices like SmartThings.
✔ More Software Updates – No need to wait for Google! Samsung could provide faster, longer software updates just like Apple.

How Samsung Can Do It:

Start with a beta program on flagship devices.

Give users an option to choose between Android & (One OS).

Ensure Android app compatibility, so people don’t feel restricted.

Samsung already has the resources to make this happen! If Huawei could create HarmonyOS, why not Samsung? I strongly believe they should launch One OS and take control of their ecosystem.

What do you all think? Should Samsung make its own OS?

✔ Yes, it’s time for Samsung to go independent!
No, Android is still the best option.

Let’s discuss in the comments! If enough people agree, maybe Samsung will consider it!

Samsung should just stick to stock google and not make up its own nonsense. One UI is terrible.

One UI has come a long way and offers a lot of unique features that stock Android lacks. An independent OS (One OS) would give Samsung even more control over optimization, battery efficiency, and software support. Just like Apple benefits from its own ecosystem, Samsung could too. Wouldn’t you like to see a fast, hardware-optimized OS built for Galaxy devices?

Oh yes I totally agree with that but the only reason I said google because it's just I donno smooth as hell of you know what I mean. Like I'm not a fan of some of the things that are there in one UI but maybe If they did come up with their own One OS it may actually end up being better.

Yeah, I get what you mean. Stock Android feels super smooth because it’s lightweight, but it also lacks a lot of features. If Samsung creates One OS, they could focus on making it as smooth as stock Android while keeping all the useful One UI features. Plus, with full control over hardware and software, it could be even more optimized than One UI on Android!

it will cost them a lot. like buying licenses. developing os from scratch. many app developer need to develop and optimize their apps to android and samsung os also. they had bada os in past but it wasn't much successful.

Yeah, developing an OS from scratch is definitely a huge investment. But Samsung already has the resources, experience, and ecosystem to make it work. Unlike Bada OS, which lacked apps and developer support, Samsung now has a massive user base, strong developer relations, and in-house alternatives for many Google services. If done right, One OS could be lightweight, highly optimized for Galaxy devices, and gradually phased in alongside Android until it’s ready to stand independently—just like how Huawei is transitioning with HarmonyOS
