In Samsung Internet, browsing is not just about searching for something and visiting web pages for getting some information but more than that, it helps the user in staying up to date with all the latest updates, and being organized without missing any important event or action and yet, not get disturbed with any unwanted information. These days, many websites provide web push notifications related to news, promotions and alerts. Users can subscribe to their favorite websites for getting updates as and when they happen. However, notifications can be distracting because there is no option for the users to view them in leisure and they do not want to miss any important update by discarding the notifications without viewing them first. Samsung Internet provides a solution to this distraction with a feature called Notification Manager, which allows the users to manage the notifications easily and view them whenever the user wishes any time later. Samsung Internet considers the health and well-being of its users is equally important and has provided features such has Dark Mode and High Contrast Mode in the browser even before it was available in the Android platform or any other app.

Notification Manager

The Notification Manager is a feature in Samsung Internet browser, which manages all the web notifications received by the user in the browser. It will let users follow up on any notifications even if the user has dismissed them from the notification shade earlier. It also lets the user view the notifications in the order of receiving them and distinguish between read and unread notifications. The users can even enable or disable receiving notifications from specific websites and configure the notification settings.

How to give permission for receiving notifications from a website?

When the website asks for user permission to allow showing notifications, a small popup dialog appears at the bottom of the screen with options to allow and deny. Tap on allow to enable the website to start sending notifications.

Dark Mode and High Contrast Mode

Watching the bright screen for long hours causes eyestrain and can lead to health issues related to eyes. With the Dark mode turned on, the Samsung Internet browser switches to a dark theme and convert the content of any webpage into a dark theme. This feature is especially useful to make the browsing experience easy on the eyes in dark conditions and avoiding eyestrain in addition, the resultant battery savings are a bonus. The browser uses the colors provided by the content developer and converts them into dark theme colors using its proprietary algorithm. This algorithm modifies the colors in the original webpage in order to convert the content to a dark theme while also keeping the essence of the original colors. The 'high contrast mode' feature of Samsung Internet works similar to the dark mode but with some key differences. This feature specifically keeping in mind the needs of the visually impaired users. The browser modifies the original colors of the webpage in order to keep maximum contrast between the foreground and background elements. Unlike dark mode, there is not much emphasis put on preserving the essence of the original colors, as this is primarily an accessibility feature.

I am using the Note10+ variety & a friend of mine is using the S10 model. Both of us have revised that after thd last couple of updates a problem has started coming in the wifi calling feature. When the wifi calling is turned on & you use it over wifi it works well but once you go out of a wifi zone & the phone turns off the wifi automatically but the wifi calling button remains enabled one can not talk over the phone as thd voice starts breaking & is not clear but if you disconnect the call & disable the wifi calling feature over the mobile network the caller can be hurd properly at the very same spot
