Samsung Internet is back with an update. An update that provides more security, more privacy and more usability. The new features range from Secret Mode Downloads and Tab Groups to enhancements such as enhanced dark mode and many more. Check out a quick overview of the latest offerings below.
Tab Group
With an aim to enhance the browsing experience and make Samsung Internet more user-friendly, we have introduced the ‘Tab Group’ feature. You’d be able to group tabs and also rename, share, remove and reorder tab groups. Now you can organize and manage your tabs more efficiently.
How does it work?
To group tabs, go to the tabs section, click on more and choose ‘Group’. You will then be able to select the tabs you want to group together. You can also provide a name to the tab group after selecting the desired tabs.

To share a tab group, go to the tabs section, click on more and choose ‘Share’. A list of all the tabs inside the tab group will be shared.
To rename, remove or reorder tab groups, go to the tabs section, click on more and choose ‘Edit’.
Choose the tab group you want to edit and click on the ‘Rename’ icon present at the bottom left to rename the selected tab group, or ‘Close’ icon present at the bottom right to remove the selected tab group.
A ‘reorder’ icon appears next to each tab group in the Edit mode. Hold this icon and move the selected tab group to the desired position.
Secret Downloading for Secret Mode
Want to download something in Secret Mode but want to keep it a secret? Well, downloads in Secret Mode will be a secret from our latest version onwards. Any file downloaded in Secret Mode will only be visible in Secret mode Downloads. It would not be visible out of Secret Mode. An image/video/audio downloaded file will open in a new tab in Secret Mode whereas a pdf will be open in a supported application. In addition to this, you can also move downloaded files from Secret mode downloads to normal downloads.
Enhanced dark mode
You can now see Samsung Internet in dark mode irrespective of the mode (light/dark) of your mobile phone. You can also control the amount of text brightness in dark mode.
To use Dark Mode, Go to More -> Dark Mode and choose the desired setting for dark mode
To control the brightness of text in dark mode, go to More -> Settings -> Webpage view and scrolling -> Dark Mode -> slide the slider to the amount of text brightness you desire
Link decoration tracking protection
More privacy, more protection. A new feature has been added to Smart anti-tracking (SAT). As tracking techniques are evolving day by day, SAT expands its protection coverage to deal with such techniques. Tracking solutions using URL parameters will lose their functionality while Smart anti-tracking is running.
Drag and drop feature
When you have more than one browser of Samsung Internet open (such as in Dex Mode or split screen), you can long press, drag and drop images from one browser to another in Microsoft word online, Google Docs online, Gmail email compose etc.

One line tab and address bar
You can now also customize the layout of Tab and Address bar. You can either have both of them in one line (Together) or one above the other (Separate)
To customize, go to More -> Settings -> Layout and Menu -> Choose ‘Separate’ or ‘Together’
