Businesses around the world are taking measures to fight against the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, and Samsung is no exception. Earlier this month, before the coronavirus was labeled a pandemic, the company had to temporarily shut down production at its Gumi plant, while earlier this week, Samsung strongly advised its employees to work from home. Now, after China, Samsung Canada has fallen victim to the coronavirus, and the company has decided to shut down all of its Experience Stores nationwide.

In a recent statement, Samsung Canada revealed that the safety of its customers, employees, and partners is a top priority, and to protect them from the coronavirus, the company has decided to shut down all of its Experience Stores across Canada, effective immediately. This could very well lead to weaker Galaxy S20 sales, but the good news for prospective buyers in Canada is that they can still order Samsung products online.

Samsung Canada confirmed that its online store will remain open, and orders ‘will be fulfilled as timely as possible.’ Of course, the brick & mortar Experience Stores won’t be permanently shut down, but there’s no way of knowing when things will go back to normal. Samsung will continue to ‘monitor the situation closely and adjust […] operations as appropriate.’
