For those of you complaining about unwanted notifications and apps getting automatically downloaded and installed without your consent, here are the main culprits:
1. Samsung Customisation Service
2. Galaxy Store
3. Application Recommendations (System App)
4. Recommended Apps (System App)
1. Turn OFF Samsung Customisation Service under Settings/ Privacy. You should turn it OFF completely. I don't see any benefits for this service. But if you have reasons to use it, then disable Galaxy Store under its Settings.
2. Turn off Notifications as well as the following permissions under Settings/ Apps/Special Access for all of the above mentioned apps:
- Appear on Top
- Change System Settings
- Install Unknown Apps
- WiFi Control
You may find that these permissions and notifications cannot be disabled for some of them. So disable the ones that can be disabled.
3. Disable Mobile Data and change Battery usage toRestricted, wherever possible.
4. Uncheck receiving marketing communications inside the Galaxy Store app.
5. Disable auto-updates under Galaxy Store settings.
6. Use a firewall likeNetguard to block internet access to all of them, except:
- Galaxy Store, if you use it frequently
- Recommended Apps, if you use Find My Mobile feature of Samsung, or any of the other services/ features included in this picture:
